Candy Cane Red Pajamas For The Whole Family: 1957 Sears Christmas Catalog Feature

Shopping For Holiday Pajamas Back In 1957

1957 Sears Christmas book page009Remember when you could buy pajamas in the same pattern for members of your family?   Just think of waking up Christmas morning with Red Candy Cane P.J.'s that were ordered from the 1957 Sears Christmas catalog. For just under $3.00 - 5.00 (each) every member of the family could be decked out for the holidays in  warm cotton  flannelette. For under a dollar you could also order the matching red and white striped night cap. And of course you need to have dolly clothed in the same  outfit. Yes back in the 50,s matching pajamas, dresses, coats etc. were popular.

You will love this special website that has scanned old catalogs. It is called http://www.wishbookweb.com/

  2. In 1963 the Ideal Toy Corp. came out with Tammy, a teenage fashion doll who had a whole family, including Mom, Dad, brother Ted and sister Pepper. That year the Sears Wishbook had matching red striped pj's for them all. Check it out! http://www.vintagedollcollector.com/ideal/tammy/pjs.jpg
